Fray Video easter egg

According to TV Guides Daily Scoop newsletter, that "Lost" trailer using The Fray's song "You Found Me" has a subliminal flash at the 1:34 and 2:25 marks; the Ajira Airways "roaring tiger atop a flaming sun" logo.
Here's the Ajira web site: http://ajiraairways.com/
(Don't know if that was covered here or at the AICN talkback, but it was news to me.)

Set Report from Extra Reveals Spoilers

Hey All,
Yesterday an extra posted a blog about her experience of being on the set and filming an episode of LOST.

Last we heard the cast and crew were close to filming Episode 5x08, so expect these scenes to take in and around that episode. In her blog she says that she does not want to ruin the plot, but then provided us with some details of her two days on the set and revealed several key spoilers. She plays a Dharma member in one scene, but in her other scene she confirms wearing 70s clothing seemingly confirming that the island has traveled back in time to the 1970s.

The other key spoiler is her revealing sitting right next to Daniel Dae Kim during a makeup session. Of course many fans were very excited and feel Jin is alive. However, all this confirms is that we will see Jin as Damon Linelof and Calton Cuse confirmed at Comic Con earlier this year.

Well here is her report with the full details so check it out and enjoy!!

Thanks to Sarah for the heads up and Katie for the report and spoilers. I just hope they don't ban her for returning for spilling these details.

For those of you who didn't know, I got to be an extra for LOST on Monday and Tuesday. I was officially cast as "Mom on Swing." This role required me push an 8 year old girl on a swing then stand by a fence and pretend to talk to a "Dharmite", and as soon as a siren went off, I ran to my "daughter", picked her up, and ran into a house. I also walked down a sidewalk right past Sawyer. I got to wear clothes from the 70s. I had to sign a confidentiality paper, so I don't give away the plot, so that's all I'll say. The girl that played my daughter was absolutely adorable. I attempted to teach her how to juggle when we were waiting to be filmed. She made me take a picture with her because she said I was going to be famous and she wanted to make sure she got a picture before it would be too difficult to. I hope that was a sign. I was working til about 4 AM and it was nice and rainy and freezing.

On Tuesday, I was a "Dharmite", as you can see in this picture. I looked like a girl scout. The director even walked over and told me that it looked like I should be selling cookies.

...."speaking of being so close to the actors, I had hair and makeup sitting between the girl who plays Juliet (Elizabeth Marshall) and the asian guy (Daniel Dae Kim).

Season 5 Shooting Schedule Changed Due To Bad Weather

According to Jorge Garcia, the shooting schedule of the episodes under production has been changed due to the bad weather in Hawaii. The actors will probably work in the studio next week.

Jorge Garcia's Blog http://dispatchesfromtheisland.blogspot.com/

Good Day To Stay In

Man it's coming down hard. And we're smack dab in the middle of it.

This rain is so noisy I have to keep turning up the TV.

Nunu keeps shivering and trying to crawl between me and the couch for warmth.
And it looks like it's going be like this for a while.

Well, something's got to make this place green.
This explains why the work schedule I got changed as soon as they delivered it. I'm thinking we'll be in the studio this week.

Say hi to the newest Lost character

Introducing Zuleikha Robinson, who is joining Lost and playing a prominent role for the upcoming season five. Her name on the show will be Ilana, which has caused rumors to swirl that this is actually a codename for a person we all know, a young Danielle Rousseau. Robinson, 31, is best known for playing Yves Adele Harlow in the short lived X-Files spin off, the Lone Gunmen, and also played a part in the show New Amsterdam.

Last Night: J.J. Abrams Launches Lost Kubrick Figurines at Meltdown Comics

by Nicole Campos
November 20, 2008 1:29 AM
Hey, Lost fans – did you hear about the big event at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood last night? The one launching the new line of Kubrick figures – the tiny Lego-plus-like figurines originated in Japan that have become all the rage amongst toy collectors – based on characters from the show? Figured you didn’t have the energy to trek down in the middle of the work week? You screwed up, man.

A veritable public staff meeting – with Sharpies! – was set up courtesy of the excellent Meltdown crew and ABC, including series creators J.J. Abrams (fresh off his super-exclusive press tour previewing footage from the upcoming Star Trek reboot) and Damon Lindelof; executive producers Bryan Burk, Jack Bender, Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz and Carlton Cuse; and writers Elizabeth Sarnoff, Paul Zbyszewski, Melinda Hsu Taylor, Kyle Pennington, and Brian K. Vaughan. As Cuse confirmed for us prior to the signing, it’s probably the most creative talent behind the hit show that had been gathered for any event that wasn’t Comic-Con… if not more. And yet it did seem as though the organizers expected a larger crowd, given all the placards and notices posted in the store that the team would not be able to chit-chat with the fans, please keep the line moving, etc. Nevertheless, for the ultimately healthy turnout that did show up, the Lost gang was more than happy to sign and banter with the enthusiastic fanboys ‘n’ fangirls for over an hour, while crews from the network shot one-on-ones and interview footage for next season's DVD release.

Meltdown’s back gallery, meanwhile, held a VIP spread including exclusive art by exec producer Bender and a plethora of Dharma Initiative props, including a whole pantry’s worth of food stuffs. (Ranch dressing composite, anyone? It’s Hurley’s favorite!) Also on show was the Kubrick line’s 1000%-sized “Be@rbrick” figurine, signed by the entire creative team and cast, which will be auctioned off at a later date to benefit the Children’s Defense Fund.

Despite the coolness on hand, however, the real action was up front with the merchandise, where the fans rifled through the Kubricks to find their favorite character. “My son really wants a Hurley!” one mom stated, disappointed to discover that the big guy had seemingly sold out. At least he wasn't one of the ultra-rare mystery figures... hot Scot Desmond only turns up twice in the large case assortments, while your chance of finding big, bad Others bigwig Ben is close to 1 in 100. “We haven’t even seen him yet,” the staffers sighed. Ah, well… the geeks will return to collect another day. Or there’s always eBay.

'Lost': Season 5 countdown! New toys! Geek heartbreak! Videos!

'Lost': Season 5 countdown! New toys! Geek heartbreak! Videos!
Nov 19, 2008, 09:45 AM by Jeff Jensen

Categories: 'Lost'
Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008. Just eight days until Thanksgiving. Thirty-two days until Hanukkah. Thirty-six days until Christmas. And 63 days until the season premiere of Lost. Freakin’ Lost! Whoo-hoo! Can’t you feel the butterflies of excited anticipation flittering in your gut in that mildly uncomfortable way that kinda makes you wanna go poop? I sure do!

Of course, there are other, potentially less flatulent ways to express your Lost enthusiasm. Tonight, for example, if you live in the Lost Angeles area, you could head over to Meltdown Comics (7522 West Sunset Blvd.) at 7 p.m. and meet executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof as well as several of their writing staff cohorts. They’ll be there to pick up their weekly allotment of new comics, no doubt (I hear Carlton is a huge Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers fan) (if you don’t get the reference, you must be 18 or older to Google it), as well as sign autographs to mark the release of a new line of Lost toys marketed by Kubrick, the super-cool Japanese company that specializes in small, blocky collectible figurines. (Google search for images. I like 'em all, especially the sad-faced Hurley...though Kate looks a little Fabio to me.) Feel free to scream and faint with I just met the Jonas Brothers and I’ll never wash my eyeballs again! hysterical glee — I hear Damon and CC totally love that.

In the meantime, here's a new Lost mystery to puzzle over. Have you guys seen this?

It’s a series of short video clips for...well, no one quite knows for sure. In fact, my emails to certain peeps in the Lost camp were returned with equally baffled reactions. The assumption is that these clips are merely promotional spots touting Lost broadcasts in Britain. But the content — Sayid bursting through the doors of what appears to be a new Dharma station and then being seized by various morphing substances shaped like the numerals 1, 2, and 3 — has fans buzzing and mulling the significance, if any. My theory? Smokey lives in a Dharma lab when he isn't hunting castaways -- and he has siblings. Yep: the crazy season is upon us!

Yet where God opens a Lost door, he must close one, although maybe not all the way. There has been an intriguing -- and possibly disappointing -- new development in the show’s latest between-seasons, reality-blurring, Internet-based alternate reality game. Since July, the Dharma Initiative has been recruiting Lost fans via dharmawantsyou.com to volunteer for a new version of the weird science outfit. The game/narrative has been moving rather slowly for some, but the expectation of all has been that it'll begin to pick up and start paying off the closer we get to the new season. But yesterday, participants received an email from Hans Van Eeghen, head of Dharma recruiting, announcing that due to the current financial crisis, Dharma has gone bust. Writes Van Eeghen: “This stunning reversal of fortune has forced us to abandon our ambitious plans. In fact, absent this funding, the Dharma Initiative was forced to make the only sensible decision we had available: we sold the Dharma Initiative to the television show LOST.” The email goes onto to indicate that participants can expect to soon hear from Cuse and Lindelof about what will happen next. My sources declined to comment, but I fear that this email is ABC’s coy way of announcing that the ARG is being revised, curtailed, or canceled altogether due to the economic downturn that has mandated budget cuts throughout all of Hollywood. When we know for certain, we’ll let you know. Post your insanity below.

New Email from Dharma

Namaste.

I am pleased to announce that registered recruits can now log in and download your personalized Volunteer Assessment Dossier outlining your full test results as well as your position within the Dharma Initiative.

I want to personally congratulate you on behalf of everyone at the Dharma Initiative for your hard work and diligence during our testing process.

We hope that you are happy with your results. We certainly are. The tests were extremely challenging and the aptitude and excellence displayed far exceeded our expectations.

Now that you are in possession of your results I am sure you are asking the obvious question: what's next?

Our plan was that together we would commence a glorious adventure: the revival of the Dharma Initiative using the myriad talents of all our amazing new recruits. We imagined not just fulfilling long abandoned goals but taking the Dharma Initiative to a new level of greatness as an organization promoting the peaceful social and technological advancement of all humankind.

Then the financial crisis struck.

Sadly, our benefactors were not immune to this crisis. In fact, unconfirmed reports suggest that much of the money designated for the work of the new Dharma Initiative was tied up in highly leveraged mortgage derivatives. This, however, cannot be confirmed because, I am sorry to report, the principals representing the benefactors - my employers - have gone missing. Based on bills still coming into our office we believe they are somewhere in South America.

This stunning reversal of fortune has forced us to abandon our ambitious plans. In fact, absent this funding, the Dharma Initiative was forced to make the only sensible decision we had available: we sold the Dharma Initiative to the television show LOST.

While this might strike some of you as a shock, the reason for this was not simply that they were the only bidder. As the only remaining Dharma Initiative employee who had not fled the country, I felt that at the very least the show would be able to keep the spirit of the Dharma Initiative alive and in the public consciousness until such time as a reversal of the reversal of our economic fortunes occurs.

It is with a heavy heart that I must bid you farewell. Despite my fervent commitment to the mission of the Dharma Initiative, the realities of a broken marriage, heavy casino debt and some unfounded police charges have required that I change my present circumstances. It is with great excitement that I can inform you of my pending senior sales management job at a large multi-brand auto dealership in Dubai. I have enjoyed our brief association more than I can ever express, and if you are ever in the Middle East and need a car, please e-mail me for a special "Dharma rate".

In the meantime, you will hear shortly from LOST showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. They will explain to you their future plans for the Dharma Initiative and how these plans might affect you.

Thank you again, personally, for your unflagging commitment and support. I hope our paths will one day cross again. In the meantime may the spirit of the island guide you.

Namaste.

Confirmed Rumor: Patrick Fischler joining Lost

Patrick Fischler joining Lost
Posted by DarkUFO at 18:24

Update: Note: I fixed an error that I posted in which we stated he would be playing the Doctor. Fischler will play one of the guys in corporate security, either Phil or Jerry. Thanks to DarkUFO reader Bigmouth for the following. This was posted originally in the rumours section but the recent article we posted confirms that he will indeed be joining the cast.In an update to the information below we have learnt that he will be playing one of the guys in corporate security in episode 5.08 that we posted about here.

I have it on good authority that Patrick Fischler of AMC's critically acclaimed Mad Men will be playing a character in episode 5x08, which is currently filming in Hawaii.Fischler is an extremely talented actor whose work on Mad Men was recently praised in a New York Times Magazine story about the show. My source was uncertain what role Fischler would play on Lost, but said source did share one tantalizing detail. Apparently, Fischler was in the late running for the role of Daniel Faraday, which eventually went to Jeremy Davies.

Details of new Lost Promo

I saw the new James Bond movie yesterday and they showed a new promo for Lost featuring this same song so I'm guessing it's the same one.

Most of the footage is the same as the first season 5 promo but there are at least three new clips.

Desmond and Penny, with Desmond getting out of bed and Penny saying "Where are you going?"

Jack in a tuxedo talking to Ben and saying "Okay let's get them back".

And one of John Locke falling from something.

The Sub is Back

Yesterday, I went sightseeing with my friend, Wally. He used to work at Kualoa Ranch and he took me there to walk around and then do the Ocean Voyager Tour. We drove/walked around the grounds of the ranch. It's breathtaking up there! Then, we went to the Ocean Voyager site. On part of the ranch property, they are filming Lost. I got to see all the crew milling around (no cast, but I did see all their trailers...not that I would recognize anyone other than Matthew Fox and only him b/c of Party of Five). Anyhow, we drove through their setup and they are filming an episode with a submarine and we got to see the sub...kind of cool.

The Fray unveiling song on ABC

'Lost' ad will air during 'Grey's'; full song online

Two and a half years after a key placement on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" helped turn the Fray into platinum stars, the band is using another high-profile TV partnership to introduce its new single, "You Found Me."

In a commercial break from the tense elevator confrontations of the Nov. 20 episode of "Grey's," a one-minute promo with scenes from the upcoming season of ABC's "Lost" will premiere the track, as well as parts of the music video.

Viewers will be directed to ABC.com, where they can find a three-minute version of the clip as well as a link to iTunes; there they can buy the single, which goes to radio the next day.

The partnership between ABC and the Fray -- vocalist-pianist Isaac Slade, guitarists Joe King and David Welsh and drummer Ben Wysocki -- also includes an agreement for the band to appear on the American Music Awards, "Good Morning America" and the outdoor concert series on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" ABC will use "You Found Me" as the promo song for this season of "Lost," and discussions are under way to use the band's music on sister channel ESPN during the height of football season.

"Because this band appeals to everyone from 8 to 80, television really does play a great role in exposing the music to a wider audience," Epic executive vp marketing Lee Stimmel said. "And the band writes amazing songs that work with a picture." (Asked if he watches "Grey's Anatomy," Slade said, "I have seen it a few times. It's a really good show.")

As for the sound of the Fray -- produced like the debut by Epic vp A&R Mike Flynn and Aaron Johnson -- it's "a little more extreme than the last record," Slade said. "The quieter stuff is a little quieter than our last record and the rock stuff is a little rockier. It definitely spreads the spectrum a little bit."

The Fray will preview the album during a tour of small venues in early January. It will be available for physical and digital preorder beginning Nov. 21 at TheFray.net; purchasers who buy the CD from the site will get a bonus disc of live recordings from the January tour.

That online integration reflects a sales history of more than 6 million digital tracks sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and the Fray scored iTunes' top-downloaded album of 2006 with "How to Save a Life."

LOST's Newest Addition

Reiko Aylesworth shouldn't have any trouble keeping her trap shut when it comes to the big mystery surrounding her new Lost character, the smart and charismatic Amy.
But it's not the gag order imposed on her by the show's iron-fisted producers that's preventing her from telling all. It's the fact that...well, she can barely straighten out the plot twists herself. ''I know the show, but I have to say, I didn't quite follow everything [they] were telling me,'' confesses the actress, best known for her role as 24's late CTU director, Michelle Dessler. ''But it sounds like it's going to be great stuff. I'm just excited to do something other than getting people files and carrying clipboards [like on 24].''
One theory making the rounds is that Amy, who'll be introduced during the show's fifth season (debuting Wednesday, Jan. 21), will be revealed to be someone from the early days of the Dharma Initiative. That would seem to confirm buzz that Ben (Michael Emerson) transported the island and all of its inhabitants back to the '70s in last May's finale. At least Aylesworth can say with near certainty that Amy's love life will be complicated. ''There's definitely some conflict with the suitors,'' she teases.
Wait a second — suitors, as in plural? How literal will the show's depiction of the '70s be? ''Obviously, we want that to be a surprise,'' says executive producer Carlton Cuse. ''Let's just say her role is very emotional.''

Major Rumor

I post this with major trepidation because not only is this a rumor meaning that its unconfirmed and could be wrong, but also gives out some major plot points. So ether way tread with extreme caution because if it's true it gives out major plot points and if not you get your hopes up.
