Nerdy Shirts

I came upon Nerdy Shirts recently and I have to say that I’m extremely impressed. There are tons of Geek T-Shirt on-line stores out there, but none of them seem to have the selection that Nerdy Shirts has. More importantly I don’t think that I have ever seen a place with old school 8 bit Nintendo themed shirts. I really had a hard time selecting two shirts because of the great variety of shirts that I wanted. I ended up choosing the A Princess Bride themed shirt with a name tag that said “Hello my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my Father, prepare to die”. And another Legend of Zelda themed shirt with a picture of the weapon selection box that says “Don’t make me go Zelda on you”.

Both shirts arrived very quickly and the cotton fabric is thin which is great for summer and has a great elasticity to it which makes it combined with the softness of the material extremely comfortable. The prices are reasonable and best of all they offer free shipping and returns along with gift cards which is a great gift idea. I wish that they had shirts from the TV show LOST or FRINGE (hint, hint), but I felt that the store had enough nerd related themed shirts to warrant a review.

I was recently made aware of Pearson Moore's "Lost Humanity" and was able to read a chapter of his book on his website and I have to say that I'm very impressed. Pearson dives deep into all of the references on LOST and is able to make you think about it all in a different way that brings things together in a more concise and simple way. You let go. Really, you did. When Lost ascended to the TV afterlife last May, you returned to your normal life, paying those overdue bills, mowing your overgrown lawn, even resuming communication with those who couldn’t understand why you wanted to own a jar of Dharma peanut butter. But perhaps somewhere in the recesses of your brain, as you saw an Elizabeth Mitchell or a Daniel Dae Kim pop up on your flatscreen, you started thinking about our dear castaways. Where are those Lost actors now? Do you they miss working on the show? And is it true that Josh Holloway cut his hair?

Those burning questions — and more — are answered in this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly. We interviewed a bunch of cast members, including Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway, and Elizabeth Mitchell, and caught up the men in charge of the show, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, as well as co-creator J.J. Abrams. The good news? No one is currently roaming the halls of a psychiatric facility in a bathrobe, repeatedly chanting six numbers. Some more good news? Several familiar faces — such as Jorge Garcia, Michael Emerson, and Henry Ian Cusick — are plotting their return to series television by starring in drama pilots. Another has landed on the stage: Mr. Fox is currently in London, starring in a new Neil LaBute play titled In a Forest Dark and Deep. “A play in the West End of London is something I’ve always dreamed of doing,” he tells EW, noting that “it’s been my goal after Lost to get into a situation where I’m doing a film here and there and a play here and there — that broad of a structure.”

Fox isn’t the only former cast member exploring new ground in Europe: Holloway recently filmed scenes for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, starring Tom Cruise. While he can’t spill too much about his role, he does hint, “I’m definitely doing some ass-kicking.” And because he’s down for all kinds of challenges in this next phase of his career, he’s guest-starring in the paintball-themed season finale of Community. “There’s a couple of good one-liners in there,” he says. “I hope I pull them off!” (Fingers tightly crossed for a Troy and Abed in the Morning segment with Holloway.)

So ‘Lost’ Is Over: Now What’s to Be Found?

I love how this article goes through Carlton's journey in finding a new show to run. Great stuff, skip to the last paragraph if you just want to find out what his new show is. Otherwise take your time with this great read!

LAST summer I went hiking with my teenage daughter in the Swiss Alps. On the first day we left the small village of Wengen and climbed above the timberline to a mountain outpost, Kleine Scheidegg, where we stopped to catch our breath. As I was drinking some water and taking in the awesome panorama, I noticed a hiker approaching. He was bearded and sunburned, wearing a kerosene-stained Swiss mountaineering pack and using trekking poles. I thought he was going to warn us of some danger. Instead he walked up to me and in German-accented English asked, “Are you Carlton Cuse, from ‘Lost’?” Startled, I answered, “Yes.”

Then he said, “Why did you not explain the polar bear?” As he detailed his own theory of how polar bears ended up in a tropical jungle on “Lost,” my daughter rolled her eyes. Even here in this remote spot I could not escape the last six years of my life. I had spent that time working an average of 80 hours a week writing and producing a TV show. After “Lost” ended last May, the first thing I wanted to do was go someplace far away and clear my brain. But I quickly discovered there was a big difference between getting away and leaving the show behind.

There is a story told in Hollywood about how right after “Tootsie” had its premiere, Dustin Hoffman was walking the streets of Manhattan with a friend when he saw his name on the marquee of a theater. He turned to him and said in all seriousness, “Do you think I’ll ever work again?”

Though probably apocryphal, this story is quite reassuring to those of us who work in the film and TV business. It underscores that even the most talented among us, after an intense period of work on a project, struggle with the question “What do I do next?”

“Lost” was a success in over a hundred countries around the world. It spawned a new term — transmedia — to describe all the associated media content (like Webisodes, alternative reality games and viral videos) surrounding a TV or film project. It was such an overwhelming phenomenon, how could I get past the large shadow it cast over my life? Should I even try?

The magnitude of my predicament seemed apparent to everyone around me. Even before the show ended, the “what are you going to do next” question seemed to be the first thing out of everyone’s mouth. What did it mean that I didn’t have an answer that satisfied me or anybody else? Most of all I wondered what, if anything, would get me excited enough to go back to work.

I was responsible for my own fate. Right around now a new season of “Lost” should be making its heavily promoted debut. Instead, three years into the show my partner, Damon Lindelof, and I did something that had never been done before in network TV: We negotiated an end date. Like J. K. Rowling, who told her readers there would be seven Harry Potter books and no more, we wanted to define the length of the show’s journey for our viewers. We agreed with ABC to make 48 more episodes over three seasons. For us, “Lost” was a story with a beginning, a middle and an end, and we wanted the opportunity to tell our story, and wrap up our show, on our own terms. The result was, we canceled ourselves.

In network TV when a show ends, it disappears from sight as quickly as Vladimir Putin’s political rivals. Within two weeks after the finale was shown, the “Lost” offices were emptied out and became the hub for a new ABC show, “No Ordinary Family.” The “Lost” billboard on the Disney lot was replaced by one for “Detroit 1-8-7.” In network promos, the mystery of the island was supplanted by the mystery of Bristol Palin on “Dancing With the Stars.”

I thought “Lost” was finally over, but I was wrong. The next week I went back into the editing room to finish work on a secret addendum to the series that we’d filmed for the DVDs. I gathered with my collaborators for the Emmys, the Saturns and the Scream Awards. And most recently, four of the six mystical numbers that kept reappearing on the show turned up in the Mega Millions lottery drawing, and I found myself back in the news media commenting on the coincidence. I eventually realized there was never going to be a definitive conclusion to the experience of “Lost.” The conclusion was going to be as ambiguous as the ending of the series itself.

Over the six years Damon and I had achieved a level of recognition usually reserved for actors or some movie directors, certainly not TV show runners. We read the Top 10 list on “Late Night With David Letterman,” looking, as one friend said, as if we’d just been beamed down from the Enterprise. We were interviewed by Diane Sawyer. We filmed sketches with Bob Newhart, Jimmy Kimmel and the Muppets, although not all at the same time. We were on TV so often that we were forced to join Aftra, the actors union.

Upon returning from Switzerland to Los Angeles, I was happy to discover that things were suddenly much quieter. I was able to stick my nose into my wife’s business and offer her indispensable advice on her daily routine that she had somehow managed to survive without. Now the phone was not ringing endlessly, and every time I checked my e-mail there weren’t 20 urgent production questions. I felt relief but also great uncertainty.

Much of the pressure I was feeling was internal, but it was magnified by the expectations of those around me. As a television show runner you are required to put out a prodigious amount of creative work. We wrote and produced as many as 25 hours of “Lost” in a single year. As an artist, if you succeed in making something fresh and new, it often looks easy: Warhol’s soup cans, for instance. And when you make it fast, it seems even easier. A tortured novelist who takes seven years to write a book gets cut a lot of slack. But if you are capable of producing a well-honed hour of filmed entertainment every eight days, how big a deal can it be to come up with a new idea?

I opened up the file where I’d dumped thoughts for new projects I’d had no time for during the run of the show. Reading them over, they felt like an elliptical diary of those years. For example, in the dark early days of Season 3, facing servicing 15 actors and the sprawling mythology, with no end date yet in sight, I was struck with what apparently seemed like a great idea for a tiny two-person romantic, comedic ... stage play.

I started going to movies and reading through long neglected piles of books. I also started watching TV again. During the series, after writing scripts and editing episodes all day, it was nearly impossible for me to come home and watch scripted television without my critical brain kicking in. Instead of being caught up in the narrative, I could see only what was underneath — the blueprints and building materials. But now, removed from the process, I was able to actually enjoy episodes of “Eastbound and Down,” “Modern Family” and “The Walking Dead.” My creative batteries started to recharge.

One day I was e-mailed an “Unfair Employer — Do Not Work Notice” from my new union, Aftra. I was not allowed to take a job as an actor on a new cable series called “Sordid Lives.” Whew. I scratched that off my to-do list.

I discussed projects with a variety of producers and executives. They ranged from the sublime — an adaptation of Stephen King’s wonderful novel “Under the Dome,” which for a variety of reasons did not work out — to some decidedly less so: a guy and a ghost are a detective team. Or my favorite: a show about a hot dolphin trainer and her dolphins who work at an aquarium by day but perform secret missions for the government by night. (I know what you’re thinking: No, I don’t know how they get the dolphins back to the aquarium every morning by dawn.)

As the months marched on, my agent displayed great patience as I turned down show-running jobs and writing assignments. I was proceeding with caution but also enjoying the liberation of not being tethered to a show.

In Hollywood there is no bigger commitment you can make than to a TV series. Even marriages pale in comparison. Marriages don’t require signing iron-clad multiyear contracts. At least most first marriages don’t. In success, I would be working unremittingly on that one project for what could easily consume the next five or more years of my life.

Before my kids started back to school, we took a family trip to the East Coast. On a stop in Washington, we walked over to the Lincoln Memorial. Deep inside that Doric temple I found myself reading the words of Lincoln’s second inaugural address, which are etched in the north wall. As I absorbed them, the back of my neck started tingling. Despite a tendency toward hypochondria, I knew this was a good sign.

Lincoln’s words were an attempt to heal the rift between a North and South deep into the Civil War. One-eighth of our population was still bound in slavery. Having majored in American history, I knew this was a period of rich and compelling drama. But more important, as I read those words about the deep divide between two very different groups of people sharing one set of borders, they felt very relevant for today. And there was something else very appealing about the Civil War: no polar bears.

The idea of a story set in this era took hold, characters sprang to life, and pretty soon it was all I could think about.

I expected my agent to scream or cry, but he did neither. Instead, he told me he had another client who was interested in working on a Civil War project, a writer-director named Randall Wallace. Would I want to meet with him? I knew Randall Wallace from his work on “Braveheart,” among other films. I said absolutely.

As Randall and I started talking, I realized how much I’d missed the creative collaborations that are at the heart of making film or television. Together we built a story, “Point of Honor,” which in its simplest form is about the journey of a Confederate family in Virginia through the turmoil of the Civil War. And while it is vastly different from “Lost,” it feels no less compelling.

As I embark on this new project, I know what is looming ahead. Immense challenges of making a period show under tight constraints of time and money. Network battles and production crises. And inevitable comparisons to “Lost.” But as tumultuous as it all can be, I realize this what I truly love doing. Because nothing outshines the thrill of having a good story to tell.

Room 23 Contest #4: In Defense of LOST

Since the start of Season 6 and especially since the Finale the fan base of LOST have been divided about whether Lost/Season 6/the Finale was and outstanding and satisfying experience or a total failure. There have been many arguments about the virtues and problems of this show. Lost is on trial and so I am calling on all those who still love everything about Lost to act as Lawyer to the Defense of the TV show LOST. In order to do so you must mount an argument that defends three important points.

1. Why Season 6 and the Finale were important to the overall arch of the series.

2. Proof that Darlton did have a plan all along. (State reasons and refute contrary arguments)

3. How and why Lost in 30 years from now will be looked back on as one of the most important things that ever happened to Broadcast Television.

Please write at least one paragraph minimum for each argument point with a maximum of two pages total. Submit your defensive essay in a Word Document attachment (if you don't have Word just send it in an e-mail) to me at room23hydra@hotmail.com by Monday, January 31rd, then a group of judges that I have chosen will read and discuss the essays and choose the essay that we feel mounts the best defence. Lost KOS Hummer Tour

While My Wife and I were in Hawaii celebrating our 10th Anniversary we took a Lost tour with the company KOS Tours Inc. http://www.hummertourshawaii.com/page/1111465 It was awesome the tour guide Jeff showed up in a Hummer and drove us around downtown and pointed out where Desmond & Charlie drove into the water in the Flash Sideways, the Marina where Ben shot Desmond, The interior & exterior (shot in different locations where Christian ran into Sawyer, the church where Desmond's Monistary & Daniels Oxford were shot. We returned later to try and find some of the locations which are in a later post.

Then we went up the Nuuana Pali Drive and we stopped at the place where They filmed the outside gate of Anthony Cooper's Home. Jeff told us that the small guard house was added just for the shot and then taken away. We weren't able to take pictures during the begining of the tour so I don't have photos of this.

After that we drove on the Nuuanu Pali Drive and stopped along the side of the road and he told us to look closely across the road because that area was where they shot the scenes when Ben & Locke visited Jacob's Cabin, Eko's death, where the Smoke Monster killed the Pilot and the tree where Hurley ghost whispered between Richard & Isabella. He told us that the film crew had cleared the area to film the scene and that Jeff and another tour guide had later visited the place after the episode aired and everything had already grown back. Thing grow that fast in Hawaii.

Kaneohe Bay = Season Finale Pier

Jeff stopped at a park area near the water in Kaneohe Bay and across the water he pointed out was the pier where the season 2 finale was shot where Jack, Sawyer, Kate & Hurley were captured and Michael was set free with Walt. It was also the place where Sun, Jin & Sayid lost Desmond's boat and Sun shot the Other Coleen. Unfortunately the Pier was private property so we weren't able to actually go on it. I was a little disappointed since I wanted to pretend that I had a bag over my head and was captured by the Others!

If you look near the right side of the photo below you can see a white thing at the end of the pier, the crew had made it and the owner told them not to bother taking it down. But since it was just made to last long enough for the shot it has since fallen down. Its the Pala Ferry covering behind the picture of Sun.

MOLI'I GARDEN = (Exterior) Sayid's service in South America

This is where they shot the outside scenes of the building that Eko entered and ended up slitting the throats of a bunch of African Drug Warlords. It was also the outside shot of when Sayid was working on a roof in South America and Locke/Jeremy Bentham visits him to try to convince him to return to the island.

MOLI'I GARDEN = Out of Borders

This is the same place that was used for the scene with Eko in Africa and the scene with Sayid in South America. The reason why it is currently painted in such bright colors is because its currently being used for shooting the upcoming ABC show "Out of Borders".

Jeff our Tour Guide was telling us about how this land/house/water area was run for years by a man who would watch over the fish that would get trapped in the water area. He died a number of years ago so the water area hasn't been looked after recently.

This pier is currently a T-Shape, but back when they shot the scenes with the Dharma pier and of Jin's Father's Boat they moved them so that they made one ling pier, that's why on the show when Sawyer is getting into the sub you only see the mountain and now tree line since they were so far out on the water.

Back during World War 2, after Pearl Harbor the Army toke over part of Kaaawa Valley/Kualoa Ranch and turned it into a secret area to protect the coast from attacks. Many of the bunkers were still there along with this tunnel system which was used to film the exterior scenes of the Dharma Station the Tempest.

Surprisingly due to the magic of camera angles this was the hill that was used for the long climb that Kate, Sawyer, Charlie, Sayid, Boone & Shannon made on the way to getting high ground to listen to the radio in the Pilot.

If you'll notice the two poles its also whats left of the bridge that Hurley crossed and that fell on Charlie when Hurley was trying to find the French Woman.

Dharmaville/New Otherton was filmed at the YMCA Camp Erdman which is a youth camp for those who don't have the financial resources to afford to go to a summer camp. Its to bad that Ben didn't know that otherwise he wouldn't have needed to steal kids from the Survivors Camp. LOL The funny thing is that about one block away is where they filmed the Survivor Camp and a block in the opposite direction is where they shot the Tailies Beach camp.

It was an amazing experience to be able to walk the same sand that Jack, Locke, Sawyer, etc walked and that a lot of the show was filmed. I happened to have a water bottle with me so I emptied it and filled it with sand from that beach. I need to find a proper container made out of glass or plastic to display it. Speak of that sand when we went through the Airport Security and the TSA agent told me that it was illegal to take sand from Hawaiian beaches. It took a minute or two to realize that he had been teasing me. That's the first time that I've ever gotten and agent with a sense of humor.

Its also where the final battle between Jack & MIB/Locke toke place. Along with where Desmond killed Kelvin Inman and where the survivors crossed a rocky area to get dynamite in the season one finale.

Its also the escalator that Lcoke went up during his drug induced dream in season 3.

While we were on our Lost KOS Hummer tour through Kualoa Ranch we drove past this being built. The tour Guide told us that they were building a set for Journey to the Center of the Earth 2 3D or JC3D as all of the signs to direct workers to the site. He told us that the big rumor was that this movie was going to be based in Atlantis.

The next day we were looking for the place where in Lost the final battle, where Desmond killed Kelvin Inman, where the survivors crossed to get dynamite from the Black Rock in the season 1 finale, and Jacob's cave and we came upon the JC3D crew, didn't see actors but the signs were there and tons of trailers, etc.

Deadline is reporting that Maggie Grace will play a new vampire threat to Kristen Stewart's Bella in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Grace, will play the role of Irina in the final installments of the Stephenie Meyer novel, which director Bill Condon is directing in two separate films.

Irina is a member of the Denali coven, considered cousins to the Cullen clan as the only other "vegetarian" vampire group. When Irina blames the Cullens for the death of her lover, her actions set in motion a terrifying chain of events.

The first of two pictures will be released by Summit Entertainment on November 18, 2011, followed by the finale on November 16, 2012. Melissa Rosenberg is writing both scripts, and Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Meyer are producing.

According to THR, "Lost" star Josh Holloway will be joining the cast of the Brad Bird directed, Tom Cruise starring "Mission Impossible 4" movie.

"Holloway is in final negotiations to act as a member of the Impossible Mission Force, the secret agent task force".

Holloway is joining an impressive cast that includes Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Michael Nyqvist and Vladimir Mashkov. The movie is being directed by Brad Bird and produced by J.J. Abrams, along with Cruise and Paula Wagner. Abrams also worked on the story along with writers Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. Production is expected to soon and the movie is slated to be released in December 2011.

A Love Letter About LOST by Paul Burrows

Six years ago Lost crashed into our living rooms and into our hearts and like the Smoke Monster it hasn’t let go. The Smoke Monster, the Polar Bears and “Where Are We?” have sucked us to the island like the giant magnet in Desmond’s Hatch. Once on the island we have followed the journey of Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Locke and many other memorable characters and learned many important life lessons which were the real heart of the show. We have debated, discussed and tried to figure out what’s inside the Hatch, Who the Others are and Why they follow a mysterious man named Jacob. Through this great journey LOST has given us great characters, important life lessons, mysteries to solve and most importantly a community of friends to debate and discuss something that we love.

When I first heard about Lost the idea of a group of people crash landing on an island full of mysteries it sounded awesome. It was about a seemingly deserted island where the people have to band together and fend off animals, environment, and each other. Then it’s revealed that there’s a giant Smoke Monster and another group of people there who not only won’t help, but kidnap and kill them one by one. There were so many mysteries about who these people were, what the monster was and most of all, what the island was. Lost was like an onion, the more that you peeled away, the more that you found out the more questions were raised. Over time as we found out who the Others were, we were left to wonder who this Jacob was. As we found out what or who the Smoke Monster was, we were left asking why he wanted off the island. Or when the Hatch was opened we wondered about Dharma. This infuriated some, but it kept millions of people coming back week after week. Mysteries were what brought fans to LOST, but the thing that grounded the show were the characters and their stories.

First episode we got one image of a scruffy looking man sitting on a piece of wreckage reading a piece of paper. This very short moment created such a mystery about this man and it created so many questions about who he was and what he was reading. Then there was the Hero of the story, or should I say Anti-Hero, a doctor who you would think had it all together. A man who had been part of the miracle of saving his wife’s broken spine, but still refused to believe in anything including himself. Or the story of a man who did believe things to a fault, whose trust in a Father lead him out a window to be smashed against the pavement below, but still miraculously survived and was healed by the island. And over the arc of the series, the scruffy Con-Man finally becomes a hero and leader, the doctor learns to believe, the believer’s faith is proven true, the girl on the run from the law learns to stop and help others, and the torturer redeems his soul through the ultimate sacrifice. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention one of the most important characters of the show, Michael Giacchino’s emotionally charged music is just as much of a character as Jack, Jacob or Ben, its enhances every scene that it’s in. Through the use of Flashbacks, Flashforwards and Flashsideways we come to know these people, and come to care for them. Over the course of the series we see their ups and downs as they struggle to make the choices to achieve their destinies. Through it all many important ideas are presented which cause us to stop and think about our own lives and who we are. Powerful ideas like destiny, choice, revenge, redemption, friendship, leadership, community, and many more. Unlike most of what’s on TV now LOST causes the viewer to think about what they are watching and even discuss it all with others.

The mysteries and characters not only caused people to come back each week, but it created such a devotion that millions of people flocked to the internet to create websites and blogs about the show, discuss and debate what was happening and would be happening, look up spoilers and even create their own art and music devoted to LOST. One of the greatest things about this is that communities were formed in places like Ain’t It Cool, Lost for Life, Spoiler TV and many, many other forums. Friendships were formed as people from all sorts of walks of life gathered together to be part of this growing experience. ABC started noticing the effect that this was having and started creating an Alternate reality game, which was a way for fans to stay excited about LOST during the long June to January hiatus and find out more information about the Lost world that the creators couldn’t fit into the actual show. Things like info on Dharma and its founders, the chance to become a member of Dharma. There was even a chance to buy LOST themed art created by up and coming commercial artists. This amazing atmosphere even inspired me to open a store and start creating LOST themed art and products.

Because of the multi layered mysteries, the deep and engaging characters and the community that has grown out of this show, LOST is a truly great experience that has and will affect TV programing for years to come. It tugs at your heartstrings and leaves you thinking about your own life. Lost is a great story with a legacy that is still being felt and will continue to do so for years to come.

Scoop: Will 'Lost' boy Josh Holloway join NBC's 'Rockford Files' reboot?

It’s been nearly three months since Lost ended and I’m still finding Easter eggs. My latest discovery: Sawyer’s purgatorial stint as a police detective may have foreshadowed Josh Holloway’s next career move!

News that NBC is taking another stab at rebooting the ’70s private-eye classic The Rockford Files—sans Dermot Mulroney in the title role—has revived talk that Holloway would look great in James Garner’s iconic (gum)shoes. And for the first time, that chatter appears to be spreading beyond my office!

A Peacock source tells me that the former Lostie’s name has been mentioned in connection to the project, but the insider stresses that there are no serious talks going on at this time. Meanwhile, House exec producer David Shore—who is shepherding the reboot along with Steve Carell’s Carousel Prods and Peter Berg’s Film 44—concedes that Holloway is a “viable choice,” but adds that “it’s too premature” to start naming names. A rep for the actor declined to comment for this story.

“NBC is still high on the project,” adds Shore. “They would like it to happen. Peter Berg’s involved producing and possibly directing and we will be looking for a new lead.”

The first attempt to revive the franchise crashed and burned last spring when the completed pilot received a thumbs-down from NBC execs.

“[It] looked like it was shot in the ’70s,” one source bemoaned to NYMag.com’s Joe Adalian. “You didn’t even know it was the current day until Jim pulled out his cell phone. It looked like Stephen J. Cannell directed it himself.”

"Weezer" Pays Homage To LOST With New Album

Rockers Weezer have picked a picture of "Lost" star Jorge Garcia to grace the cover of their next album, "Hurley."

Front man Rivers Cuomo says the band struggled to come up with a title and accompanying image for their eighth album -- until they settled on a photo of the larger-than-life actor, who played Hurley on the desert island series.

"We struggled super hard trying to come up with an album title, trying to find some kind of phrase that summed up the whole aesthetic behind the album," Cuomo says.

"I was coming up with all kinds of stuff, but ultimately, we just went with some random word that doesn't really have anything to do with anything. I just loved this photo of Jorge Garcia -- it just had this amazing vibe. We didn't want to do a fourth self-titled record and we knew people would refer to it as 'the Hurley record' even if (we) left it without that title, so we just called it 'Hurley.' No words are on the cover because all we wanted was his amazing face."

But Cuomo said he wasn't always a "Lost" fan and only began watching the cult series after meeting Garcia, reports Spinner.com.

"I only made it through season two, so I was really nervous hanging out with Hurley/Jorge recently, because I didn't want to hear something about how it all resolves, or overhear anyone else talking about it. I really like the show though."

"Hurley" hits shelves in September.

Well, that didn't take long at all.

Despite fan fears that we might not see any of our beloved Losties on television for a good long while, sources have confirmed that Terry O'Quinn has just signed on to a new TV project:

Terry has been cast opposite The Curious Case of Benjamin Button star Taraji P. Henson in the upcoming Lifetime movie, Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story.

This is his first role since Lost, and Terry is most definitely playing a good guy this time around.

Production begins next month in Vancouver. A rep for Lifetime has confirmed this casting news.

Terry (John Locke/Man in Black) is the third series regular from Lost to be cast in a new TV project, following Daniel Dae Kim (Jin), who's coming to the new Hawaii Five-O and Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert) who will appear on Psych. No rest for the talented!

According to Lifetime, Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story is based on the true story of Tiffany Rubin (Henson) and the daring rescue of her six-year-old son, Kobe, after he was abducted by his biological father and taken from his home in Queens, New York, all the way to Seoul, South Korea. With the help of Mark Miller (O'Quinn) and his charitable organization The American Association for Lost Children, Tiffany was able to travel to Korea to execute a high-stakes plan to bring her son home.

Comic-Con 2010 Saturday: Lost Encyclopedia Panel

-Release date moved back to mid September or October.

-They started out showning a clip from the season 6 DVD bonus disc of Mark Pellegrino on being the island protector and choosing Jack to take his place. Nothing huge, but it was cool being able to see it.
- They also showed page layout of the book and they look really awesome. They are going to be super detailed and all of the entries will be in alphabetical order.
-There will be close ups of props .
-Along with layouts to all of the Dharma Stations.-But this book will not fill holes of unanswered questions. They talked about how they love Lostpedia and other websites, but once they got the job of doing this they decided to not go to those sites anymore. They really tried to not put their own interpretations in the book, but to only write about what was in the actual show and webisodes. -They wanted to do a Family connections map, but it would have been to huge. But there wil be a box on each characters page that will lead to all of the characters that they are connected to.
-They had access to the Temple sets and the translation to all of the eygptian symbols.
I got in line to ask a question and the kid in front of me was the actor was Sterling Beaumon (Little Ben) and there was tons of cameras going off which blinded me! LOL He asked if Annie would be in the book (I'm assuming that he was one of the special guests that the guide had mentioned. They said that there would be some stuff in there on her.-When it was my turn I asked if there would be a diffinative map of the island and just like Darlton would do they called a polar bear to come out and grunt about it as a distraction as if they had that planned all along. I asked them again afterwards and they confirmed that they would not have a map in the book. They had wanted to, but that Darlton said that they wanted to leave it to the imagination.

Afterwards I gave them each a set of my Trading Cards. I really can't wait for this to come out.

Just like yesterday Morena Baccarin came out with blond hair to the surprise of many, but they assured the crowd that her hair would be back to normal before shooting. The panel started out with a clip reel of the key moments of the first season. Then they started talking about season 2.

-We will find out the true intentions of the V's and what they look like under the human skin.

-We will find out what the Red Storm is in the first shots of the Premiere.

-Elizabeth Mitchell was asked what makes her role as Erika different then her other roles. She answered that she's a Mom and has to keep a job. She was also asked about having to fly back and forth for awhile with both Lost and V, she said that she really loved both casts and that both felt like she was at home.

-We will see Erika's Ex again along with her Mother. There will also be a new 5th Column group which will clash with Erika's group.

-Lisa will be pushed further toward Erika and Tyler will be pushed further towards Anna. It will be revealed why Anna is interested in Tyler. Also how long the V's have been on the earth. what history the V's have affected and what they plan to do to us.

-We will see some of the V home planet when we are introduced to a new character named Diana.

-There will be a lot more backstory revealed on Erika, Jack and Hobbs.

-In season 2 Ryan's baby will play a huge part with Anna trying to figure out how to use it as a weapon. There will also be a more international feel this season.

The line for the V panel was a lot shorter then the one for the EW Panel and this one was on the busiest dat Saturday. Although the EW one was before the True Blood Panel and I'm guessing that a huge persentage of the crowd was actually Blood fan coming early to get a good seat. Fridays line went all the way back to the end of the building, but todays it only went back a few tents.
This guy was awesome, he worked eletrical at the San Diego Fairgrounds and he had real metal Wolverine claws that were attached by a handle to some biker gloves. I asked him how he got them through security and the told me that most of them didn't even bother to stop him, in fact one even stopped to admire them! But when one did stop him he told them thathe had bought them there! Which was kind of scary that there was a booth that sold that and real ninja swords since that day there had been two nerds fighting over a seat in a panel and one of them stabbed the other right below the other's eye!

Elizabeth Mitchell, Morena Baccarin and one other actor from V along with other actors from other shows were on the panel. New episodes of V will start shooting on August 12th. Morena Baccarin supprised everyone when she showed up with blonde hair both at the TV Guide and later at the V panels.

-The cast memebers of V spoke about how even serious moments they find time to crack up and laugh inbetween shots.

-Elizabeth was asked about always being chased wiether it be Lost or V and she said that yes she is always being chased, shooting or being saved.

I spent the morning wandering the hall and buying half off Graphic Novels, Transformers and other things. After that I got into the long and hot (since it was out side) line for Hall 20 the second biggest hall in the San Diego Convention Center.

Elizabeth Mitchell from from Lost and V, Anna Torv from Fringe and 3 other women from Scott Pigram and another movie spoke about being a woman in Hollywood, I was mostly interested in the Lost & Fringe stuff so that's what I'm reporting here.

Elizabeth Mitchell spoke about dangling in a well which received a huge response from the audience. She also spoke about how excited she got when she got her first flashback. Also how weirded out she was about her "The Other Woman" flashback.

One of the Movie actresses were talking about running around shooting guns and Anna Torv compared that to how she had recently been running around in a forest while shooting a future episode.

When asked about how nice it is that now women don't have to wear revealing clothes just like Men can now can show weaknesses, Anna Torv said that she was glad that her role always requires that she dresses up. She commented about how funny it was that on Fringe Olivia usually does all of the boy action stuff while the boys are usually found chatting in the kitchen.

First, hi. It's so great to be talking to you both again. And congratulations on the eight Emmy nominations! What kind of emotions go into a day like today—knowing it's Lost's final season?
Carlton Cuse: We never for a minute take for granted that we're entitled to an Emmy nomination. Very worthy shows like Law & Order and 24 and Friday Night Lights weren't nominated today. We recognize that pleasing the fans at the end of Lost was very tall order, so we were extremely happy and gratified to the Academy's recognition for the work of everyone on the Lost team. It was especially gratifying to see that we got Emmy nominations for our really talented collaborators, as well.
Damon Lindelof: Emotionally, it's been a much different experience than we're used to because nomination day has always been on a working day for us. So we'd get the nominations in morning, I would come into Carlton's office, we would hug, we would do a little bit of press and then we'd go, OK what is episode three of season four going to be? This is one of those days when you really realize the fact that we're no longer making the show. We've always taken the month of June as a vacation, but the deeper we get into July without writing new episodes of Lost, the more it begins to sink in. It's like, wow, we're really done. It's one thing to write the final episode and to see the final episode, but now that sense of really looking back on it and it's really over—that cold, hard reality. In the stages of grieving, we're now moving into the acceptance stage, and that is a wonderful thing, but there is a certain degree of sadness to it, too.

Lost received a lot of Emmy love today. Do you think the nods were based more on storytelling and acting, rather than honoring its final season?
C.C.: I don't think you can get an Emmy nomination just based on nostalgia or longevity. If that was the case, Law & Order [would have, too.] What an unsurpassed accomplishment for that show to have been on the air for 20 years! That is stupendous. But we were extremely lucky and we remain enormously grateful to ABC for allowing us to end the show on our own terms. The key for Damon and me in doing so was that the story wouldn't go on too long. That we could end Lost before people got tired of it. We didn't have to stretch our storytelling beyond what we had imagined for the series. To actually get nominated after being able to do that has just made today an awesome day all the way around.

Had the two of you always intended on submitting Lost's finale, "The End," for Emmy consideration, or where there other contenders?
C.C.: It wasn't a preplanned thing, but we'd written the finale and shot it and felt really good about it, and it was at that point we made a decision to submit that episode. It did feel like it was representative of our work, and it was the appropriate culmination of the show and might be the best thing for us to submit, so that's what Damon and I decided to do.

D.L.: We certainly had a conversation about it, and we alternate playing devil's advocate. The concern for Lost with the Emmys has always been that you don't want to submit an episode that would make no sense to somebody who's never seen the show. And maybe there were some self-contained episodes this season that would work better, but in the final season there are no self-contained episodes of Lost. Even in episodes like "Ab Aeterno," it works because of three seasons of wondering who Richard Alpert (Nestor Carbonell) is. So the conclusion was, if the finale is not the episode we should be submitting, then season six doesn't really deserve to be nominated for an Emmy.

Have you spoken to any other Lost Emmy nominees today?
C.C.: I've not spoken to the actors directly. I've exchanged some emails with fellow nominees, but it is a little bit different this year because we're not in the office, we're not working, we're not sitting down together having breakfast. It's a little different feeling, but there's plenty of love going back and forth between everybody on the show. It's been a really celebratory day. The hidden secret of Lost's success was the incredible alchemy between everyone who worked on the show. It's been one of those days where we've been happy to have an excuse to be back in communication with each other.
D.L.: It feels like before [the end of Lost], the first thing Carlton and I would do when anybody was nominated for anything, we'd get on the phone and congratulate them. Because we were their bosses and that's what you do. But we're not their bosses anymore, now we're just all friends who worked on a show together. And that started on finale night, when we all came together it felt like we all made the show together and there is not hierarchy because we're not working together. We were able to drop the business-like attachments of the show. We were just able to hug each other and cry it out and be emotional and cool with each other. High school is over, we're graduating, everybody's going off to college, we'll always look back at this time with tremendous affection—And [Sarcastically] I don't miss it one bit.

Why break your radio silence now? Was that always the plan, too?
D.L.: It wasn't a thought at the time. Every year after the finale we've always gone into radio silence just because we're pretty sick of ourselves, so we can't even imagine what everybody else thinks of us. And we've always broken our radio silence at Comic-Con, and this year we're obviously not going to Comic-Con because it's about promoting something to come. The idea of looking back on the show is not something we were particularly interested in, looking back at ourselves. But around a week ago, Carlton and I had both been on vacation and received an email from someone at ABC asking [if we would] be willing to do some press. And that was our first contact with each other where it was like, alright, of course. If the show gets recognized, it feels totally appropriate for us to express out feelings about how awesome that is. There's no reason to not talk about Lost ever again, it's just not in our DNA. Had the show not been nominated for anything, I'm sure Carlton and I would have emerged at some appropriate time over the summer to talk about—
CC: To begin begging for work at Starbucks. [Laughs.]

Before you go, we'd love to know if you have any other Emmy nominated faves this year—besides Lost, of course.
C.C.: I was very happy for Ryan Murphy to see how much love Glee got. It's exciting that the show really feels like it's in the zeitgeist now, and for us having been fortunate to ride that zeitgeist wave for awhile, it's great to see that Ryan is surfing it, too. He's a wonderful guy and the show is worthy of all the attention it's getting.
D.L.: And also Carlton and I, and all the writers in the writer's room's favorite show this year was Modern Family. We would talk about it every Thursday morning. And Steve Levitan and Chris Lloyd are just really class acts, and everyone on that show is so sweet. Also, in the year Lost came about, it was Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy, and people were saying all hail the drama, and the return of comedy is dead. Since Friends and Seinfeld, there really hasn't been anything. And now you look at comedy and there's not just Glee and Modern Family, but also The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men, and comedy has never been bigger. Comedy is completely strong. And that's not even mentioning 30 Rock and The Office, which are two incredible comedies. On the drama side, it was really cool see Matthew [Fox] get recognized as lead actor, but also to see somebody like Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton break into that mix. Friday Night Lights is clearly a show that's gotten enormous critical acclaim, but just never connected with Emmy voters, and it's really cool that it finally got acknowledged.

And that's all, folks. Do you love Darlton, or do you love them? And how much do you miss Lost, because those almost-tears on the phone were very real, and the mere sound of Damon and Carlton's voices pushed up over the edge. In the best way, of course.

Lost Emmy Nominations

Man I really hope that Lost sweeps this just like Return of the King did for the Oscars. Kind of an overall set of awards for the entire series. I expected the Emerson and O'Quinn nominations, but I was pleasantly surprised at Fox for Actor and Mitchell for Guest Actress. The Jack Bender nomination was great also along with Darlton for Writers. I love how the web/DVD special "Mysteries of the Universe" is going up against all of the teeny bopper stuff.

King of the World? More like King of the Universe.

Here's one more feather in his Na'vi cap: James Cameron's space-themed Pocahontas tale dominated last night's Saturn Awards, taking home Best Science Fiction Film, Best Director, Best Writer and Best Actor and Actress for stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, who played the marine grunt sent to Pandora and the Na'vi princess he falls for, respectively.

The ceremony, which took place in Burbank, honors the most accomplished works in the sci-fi, fantasy, thriller and horror genres and the Titanic helmer has long been a mainstay. In fact, Avatar marks a personal triumph for Cameron who holds the mark for most Saturn victories, having won twice for directing and writing. He was also feted with the Visionary Award.

All in all, the blue-tinted blockbuster won 10 trophies including Best Supporting Actor and Actress for Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver, Best Music for composer James Horner and Best Production Design and Special Effects (natch) to the team of Joe Letteri, Stephen Rosenbaum, Richard Baneham and Andrew R. Jones.

Other notable winners on the film side: Watchmen, which snagged Best Fantasy flick, and Sam Raimi's Drag Me To Hell, which was named Best Horror film. While Quentin Tarantino's WWII revenge fantasy thriller Inglourious Basterds took a scalp of its own, Best Action-Adventure thriller, last summer's surprise hit District 9 scored Best International Film, and Monsters and Aliens landed Best Animation prize.

On the tube side, while Lost gets ready to enjoy a long after-life in syndication, its final season found the acclaimed ABC serial mystery earning a Saturn for Best Network TV Series while star Josh Holloway quipped his way to a Best TV Actor win for his role as everyone's favorite con-man, James "Sawyer" Ford.

Not to be outdone, J.J. Abrams' other baby, Fringe, garnered kudos for Best TV Actress for Anna Torv and Star Trek's Leonard Nimoy for Best Actor in a guest-starring role. While Breaking Bad broke in with Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series.

For making one of the best sequels of all time in The Empire Strikes Back and bringing unexpected depth and heartfelt emotion to George Lucas' space opera franchise among other cinematic achievements, veteran filmmaker Irvin Kershner was honored with the Life Career Award, appropriately enough on the Star Wars film's 30th anniversary.

The big loser of the night? Guy Ritchie's amped up take on Sherlock Holmes which uncovered eight nominations but walked away empty-handed.

DVD preview: What can we expect from 'Lost: The Complete Collection'?

Today I got an in-person sneak preview of one of the most anticipated DVD releases of the year: Lost: The Complete Collection. The 37-disc set looks pretty spectacular ... and so do the bonus features.

First off, let's just take a look at this set, out Aug. 24 (from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment):

It comes in a black box that looks big enough to contain a board game -- and it does! The set comes with a fold-out Senet board and black and bags of white rocks. It also contains a small black light, which is a little puzzling; I was told there are some elements to the set fans will have to "figure out for themselves." Intriguing.

The episode guide wasn't available for preview, but it's also part of the set, as is the ankh and the island replica. Here's a pic I took today for another view:

As for bonus features, I watched part of the "Slapdowns," where celebrities/Muppets face Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. In a feature called "Letting Go," the cast reflects on the series, and we see the empty post-Lost set. (Naveen Andrews looks quite fetching in that one.)

Lost University also returns with the release of The Complete Collection and Complete Sixth and Final Season. Fans/graduates will now be able to take part in a "master's program" that focuses more on theology, rather than last year's program, which included a lot of science and time travel. One not-to-miss course: "Exploring Spanish with Nestor Carbonell."

Finally, most of us can't wait for the "new chapter" of Lost -- 12 minutes of never-before-seen footage from Lindelof and Cuse. (Note: This is also available on the Season 6 set.) I was treated to one minute of this. I begged to see more, but no dice.

I don't want to reveal too many spoilers, and there are some spoilers from that 60 seconds, including the "when" and "where." But I will tell you the clip I saw featured Michael Emerson and "Dharma peas." Draw your own conclusions.

The DVD collection costs $229.99, while the Blu-ray discs will set you back $279.99. According to the box, it contains 5,074 minutes of material about Lost. Start clearing your calendar! I smell a marathon (and fish biscuits).

Where to Find AFFORDABLE Authentic LOST PROPS

Hi All!

It's time to let you in on a little discovery that I made recently, because I believe a good number of you just might freak out over this. I mean that. Literally. Freak. Out.

A few days ago I posted an introduction to my new friend, Hawaiian native Tina Lau, along with a very cool article she wrote about the impact LOST has had on Hawaii. It also featured some really special photographs of the cast members that most people haven't seen anywhere else. If you didn't read it, please check it out!

So, in addition to being a sister designer, photographer, and LOSTie, Tina is a also a fellow eBayer. And what she sells in her store, AllAccess808, is going to blow your mind more than a visit to Room 23.

You see, Tina sells LOST props.

That's right! She's acquired a healthy number of AUTHENTIC items from the past six years of the show that she's been selling on eBay to fans and collectors who want to own a real piece of television history. Many of you are already aware of the "official" prop auction that is going to be taking place this summer through Premiere Props, a famous auction house for all kinds of entertainment memorabilia. Over 1,000 of the most iconic items from LOST will be up for grabs and open to buyers around the globe. However, most of us "normal people" are more than likely not going to be able to afford what these pieces are more than likely going to sell for.

Enter Tina and her extremely amazing find that one Saturday afternoon in May. As she told me, "It was by luck that I acquired these items. At first, the prop warehouse sale was meant only for the crew members of the show but they had thousands of items and realized they had to open it to the public. They advertised it on Craigslist as a "TV Warehouse Sale" so they didn't get a lot of people."

That meant that Tina was able to get a lot of stuff, though. She has been selling everything from designer ties, to jewelry and other ladies' accessories, "knick-knacks", vases, glassware, lamps, and anything and everything else that you can think of that would go to create one of the many sets that we have seen on LOST over the years. And as we all know, LOST has some very unique, even bizarre items on their sets.

Some of her most amazing acquisitions include items that are more familiar and that she has even been able to find screen-captures from the show to demonstrate exactly which episode(s) the items have showed up in. There's Sawyer's jewelry box, a rosary from the finale, items from both Kate's and Juliet's kitchens, items from Jack's desk, Jacob's tea kettle, even one of the light fixtures from Hurley's room at Santa Rosa.

Not to mention, she was even able to get Richard Alpert's old trunk that he had with him during his time living in one of the Others' tents. There's also one of the many DHARMA binders we have seen over the years in various offices on the Island. Oh yeah, and Tina even has the dartboard from the Swan Hatch itself!

The best part is, there is literally something for everyone here, as in, in everyone's price-range. I have seen items sell from as little as $0.99 on up. Of course the more iconic items are going to cost you a bit more, but still these prices are nowhere near what a prop from the Premiere Props auction is going to go for.

So why is Tina selling all of this great stuff? Well, although she is a LOST fan, she's not really that big of a collector. She really wants to give true fans an opportunity to get something from the show since she knows how much LOST means to so many of us.

In return, fans also get to help someone out, a freelancer just like yours truly who has really been affected by the current economy. So do know that by making a purchase it isn't like you are helping to line the pockets of some huge corporation like Disney, but instead just another fan of the show and of the entertainment industry in general. Fans helping fans....how much better does it get?

Besides, when was the last chance you had to own a piece of your favorite TV show?

So go do yourself a favor and take the next available submarine over to Tina's shop, AllAccess808 and pick yourself something out really cool. If it doesn't have a screen-cap, you can then devote some of your episode re-watch time to trying to find your item, kind of like a fun little LOST scavenger hunt!

In addition to "Five-0," ABC is touting crime show "Castle" and FX will field a panel for outlaw biker drama "Sons of Anarchy" -- both for the first time.

The additions come after Fox and USA Network helped trailblaze Comic-Con for procedurals last year with panels for "Bones," "Burn Notice" and "Psych." All three drew a large enough crowd to earn a return performance this year, plus USA is adding a panel for "White Collar."

Though the dramas play in more grounded genres than such Comic-Con TV pioneers as ABC's "Lost" and Syfy's "Battlestar Galactica," each choice needs to present a compelling case to be included in the lineup. Comic-Con picks are debated by networks and studios and discussed with Comic-Con organizers -- who veto shows from participating if they're too off-brand.

All agree it's not in anybody's best interest for a show to go to the event if fans ridicule its inclusion or fail to pack its ballroom. (Networks declined to comment for this report since Comic-Con organizers prefer to announce the event schedule).

In the case of "Five-0," there are a few factors that make the show more Comic-Con friendly than one might expect. It's a remake of a 1970s series, it's CBS' tentpole new title for the fall and it boasts heavy amounts of action. But what best lures Comic-Con fans to a new show is the panelists, and "Five-0" has former "Battlestar" veteran Grace Park and ex-"Lost" co-star Daniel Dae Kim, not to mention "Star Trek" producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

Networks are using similar logic behind including "Sons" and "Castle." "Sons" stars "Hellboy" lead Ron Perlman and "Futurama" co-star Katey Sagal, while "Castle" has "Firefly" and "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" star Nathan Fillion.

Some other new shows making their Comic-Con debut include NBC thriller "The Event" and superhero drama "The Cape"; ABC superhero family drama "No Ordinary Family"; AMC zombie drama "The Walking Dead"; and the CW's action-series "Nikita." Fox's new animated show "Bob's Burgers" will be there, as will Steven Spielberg's new dino-drama "Terra Nova."

TBS hasn't had conversations with Conan O'Brien about attending Comic-Con, but having its new late-night host make an appearance would seem to be a smart play.

The San Diego event also will host a slew of returning shows, including Fox's "Glee," "Fringe" and "Human Target," ABC's "V," Starz' "Spartacus," the CW's "Vampire Diaries" and NBC's "Chuck."

The list will continue to fill out as Comic-Con gets closer.

Lost: Jorge Garcia Dishes on Secret DVD Scene--and What He Really Thinks of Finale

Good news for those of you still struggling to "let go" from Lost: Jorge Garcia confirms that there is indeed an extended bonus scene he shot with Michael Emerson for the upcoming full-series DVD collection. Holler!

We just caught up with the island's awesome new "No. 1" at the Monte Carlo Television Festival in, you guessed it, Monte Carlo, and here's what he dished:

"It will address some of the issues, like the food drops, and it will deal with what happened on the island after Hurley took over and how he handled things," Garcia reveals of the DVD bonus feature he shot. "It will give you a taste of what took place after Hurley took over as the new number one. There's a little epilogue thing going on with the DVD."

That little epilogue will be available to fans when Lost: The Complete Collection is released on DVD and Blu-ray August 24.

Inside sources also told me that Walt (Malcolm David Kelley) will be shown in the bonus material. "We'll find out what happens to Walt," says the insider. But when asked who else he worked with, Jorge replied coyly: "There are other people in it, but I'm not going to tell you who." Hmmm!

So now that he's done with the show and can really tell us what he thought of the controversial series finale, what does Jorge have to say?

"I loved it," Jorge says. "When I first got the finale script, it didn't have the final act in it yet. But I got to the part where Hurley takes over and there was a kind of a sigh of relief. I thought OK, this ending is a satisfying ending for me. Everything I invested in this show does pay off. And so I'm good, the ending is good, and I don't have to worry about it."

And though many viewers didn't see that twist coming—that Hurley was named the protector of the island after Jack decided to sacrifice himself—Jorge says he and Matthew Fox both had a sneaking suspicion. "During the whole season, Matt Fox and I were going back and forth, going, 'It's going to be one of us, it's not going to be one of them, its got to be one of us.' So yeah, I liked it [the ending], it was quite heavy."

Now that Lost is gone for good, Jorge says he's ready for another TV acting gig, when the time is right. "Because of the success of Lost I am able to be a little bit picky, which is nice," Jorge admits. "I have been sent three or four scripts for television series, but there wasn't anything I really wanted to do. I want to tell a good story, whether it's a TV show, a movie, whatever. That's really my No. 1 criteria."

Looking back, Jorge says that shooting Lost was the best of times—and sometimes, the comically worst of times. "During the pilot, they brought a bright light to an undeveloped area of the island that had probably never seen light at night, and all sorts of bugs came out of the forest," Jorge remembers with a laugh. "Many of them landed in my hair and during breaks they would have to come and pick them out. It is my worst memory, because even after I got home, after we thought they had all been taken out, two more bugs fell out into the drain when I was taking a shower."

As for the good: "A collection of things come to mind, but one in particular stands out. One time we were working on a scene and a whale breached for like five minutes, and we all just paused and watched it happen and afterward we just sat back and said, 'You don't see that when you're working on a set in Burbank.' " And how.

The 'Lost' actor - who has a 14-month-old daughter, Java, with his wife Yessica Kumala - loves looking at beautiful women in skimpy underwear but admits his biggest turn-off is oversized underwear and baggy clothing.

He said: "The hottest thing is lingerie. The least sexy outfit is baggy sweat pants and a large T-shirt. And granny panties!"

The 40-year-old hunk is also scared off by women who fill their bedroom with stuffed toys and wedding magazines.

He said in an interview in the June issue of Women's Health magazine: "One stuffed animal is fine, but if there are a lot, that's scary. Another warning sign is when a woman has too many pictures of herself around. And the worst: baby and bridal magazines!"

Although he is clear about what traits put him off a woman, Josh also knows what he likes and he adores women who are cute, pretty and hot.

He added: "It's nice if a woman has a bit of each. Cute is the fun part you play around with every day. Pretty is nice to look at. And hot is sex."

However, Josh hasn't always been the ideal boyfriend and was once smashed over the head with a picture frame as a teenager when his girlfriend found out he had cheated on her.

He said: "I had a girlfriend, but I agreed to go to another girl's prom at a different school. My girlfriend busted me and broke a picture frame over my head. I believe it was a montage of photos of us. I didn't need stitches though. It was a nice, clean smash.

‘Shield’ Creator: ‘Lost’ Bosses Should Be ‘Very Happy’ With Finale

Shawn Ryan, whose ‘The Shield‘ has often been held up this week as a gold standard for series finales, tells Fancast that ‘Lost’s showrunners “should be very, very happy” with the way they wrapped up their show.

“I have a feeling that Carlton [Cuse] and Damon [Lindelof] were ultimately pleased with what they did,” Ryan says. “And that’s the important thing.”

Sunday’s two-and-a-half hour ‘Lost’ finale rankled some fans by revealing that the “sideways” reality that shared the stage this season was a pre-afterlife “holding area” and not an existence that actually happened.

Also, numerous mythological questions were left unresolved. As such, some viewers felt cheated – if not pretty darn confused.

“You really and truly cannot please everyone,” Ryan notes. “A lot of critics really liked the ‘Shield’ finale, but I also read plenty of people online who wanted something different, or something more.”

We’d hate to spoil ‘The Shield’ for anyone who might dive into that complete series DVD set, but in a nutshell its finale delivered heaps of comeuppance to those who deserved it. Some fans, though, took issue with the fate assigned Michael Chiklis’ Vic Mackey.

Ryan makes this observation: “As finales go, time changes perspective, so just because [the way 'Lost' ended] might be polarizing now, it doesn’t mean that a year from now the majority might fall to one side or the other.”

Ryan also stresses perspective when considering the source of critiques. Those born of fan blogs versus professional critics “tend to offer extreme points of view that do a lot of shouting and don’t necessarily represent the vast majority,” he points out. “Hopefully [Cuse and Lindelof] aren’t spending all of their days reading them, good or bad.”

Ryan also shares his opinion on series finales for the ‘Lost’ Season 6 DVD set coming out August 24.

As for ‘The Shield’ returning to the spotlight this week in the wake of ‘Lost,’ ‘24′ and ‘Law & Order’ signing off, Ryan – who executive-produced Season 2 of Fox’s ‘Lie To Me,’ returning June 7 – says, “That show is very near and dear to me, so anything that brings it back into the public consciousness is great.”

'FlashForward' fans plan to reenact 'blackout' to try to save ABC show

FlashForward fans plan to stage their own "blackout" on June 10 by pretending to pass out in front of ABC offices around the world to protest the network's recent cancellation of the show after its debut season.

"On June 10th, 2010......Fans of ABC's canceled FlashForward are going to blackout for 2 minutes and 17 seconds," Save FlashForward campaign's website states. "Come join us in a protest to change the doomed future of FlashForward.

In the sci-fi series, which starred LOST's Dominic Monaghan and Sonya Walger, the characters cope with the aftermath of a mysterious global "blackout" that lasted two minutes and 17 seconds, which rendered them unconscious. When they wake up, they receive what appear to be visions of their future on April 29, 2010 - six months away.
ABC confirmed in May that it had cancelled FlashForward. The show debuted in September 2009 and its ratings dropped steadily since then. FlashForward fans plan to launch their demonstrations, to try and save the show, in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and London.

"We are sending calendars with 4/29 circled, friendship bracelets and letters to show our continuing support for FlashForward and we are sending them to the head of ABC, Stephen McPherson, who with a flick of his pen can give it second life," the campaign's website said, referring to the president of ABC Entertainment Group.

"We are getting FLASHFORWARD a SECOND SEASON!" it said. "SAVE FLASHFORWARD!!"

The campaign also urges fans to send homemade videos of themselves pretending to black out and then have a "FlashForward".

'Lost' star Evangeline Lilly: Children's book author?

Lost looker Evangeline Lilly dropped by Craig Ferguson’s couch last night for some after-hours chit chat. And after covering a few non-kid-friendly topics (Ferguson’s snake-shape mug, the potential removability of Lilly’s dress, etc.), she shifted gears to give a sneak peek of a children’s book she’s writing called Squickerwonkers (we’re guessing at the spelling there). Here’s a sample:

“The name is Squickerwonker, perhaps unknown to you. But that’s it, Squickerwonker. And here’s what Squickerwonkers do…”

Of course, Lilly didn’t spend six years on that island for nothing: She ends her little recitation with a Lost-worthy cliffhanger about the Squickerwonker’s “horrible secret.”

Are they actually smoke monsters? Or maybe they exist in an alternate universe? Lilly says she doesn’t have any firm publishing plans yet for the book, so I guess we’ll all just have to hang in there for a while. But you know what? The whole thing actually sounds kind of cute. We’d totally pre-order a copy for ourselves our appropriately aged cousins next Christmas.

Variety reports that the film centers on the 1926-1929 Cristero War, “touched off by a rebellion over the Mexican government’s 1917 attempt to remove the influence of the Catholic Church and secularize the country.” Chronicles of Narnia visual FX supervisor Dean Wright will direct the film from a script he wrote with Michael James Love. The film also stars Oscar Isaac (Robin Hood) and Nestor Carbonell (Lost).

No one could ever accuse me of being overly Scientific, except when it comes to methods for applying eyeshadow so that it doesn’t crease or fade (oh yes, there ARE ways). But when you bring Michael Emerson aka Ben Linus of Lost into the equation, I can maybe get a tad interested in science.

Dr. Craig Venter has recently announced he and his team have created a living, self-replicating cell. That’s pretty major. Even I know that. Because this is a big break- through for science, and causes so many questions in the religious and scientific worlds, the Science Channel is airing a special all about it.

This special is called Creating Synthetic Life and it will air on Thursday, June 3rd at 8pm EST. Is the Dharma Iniative involved? Well, just a tad. Man Naveen lost his wife and now Joege loses his dog! Sad time for Lost actors, at least Josh got a Marvel Movie.

Nunu, the Greatest

It breaks my heart to tell you that yesterday as we were preparing to all go to the airport Nunu was struck by a car as she crossed the street. She died in my arms.

We are burying her in the Pet Garden at Valley of the Temple in Kaneohe. Nunu hated the water so we couldn't bring ourselves to having her ashes scattered in the ocean. Three months from now you'll be able to find a bronze plaque inscribed with just her name there. If you'd like to leave a flower or a toy, I'm sure she'd love it.

Please understand that I have turned off commenting on this blog because I really can't deal with approving them all. I did go through and label the posts that feature her should you want to go through them.

We love and miss her very much.

LOST's Josh Holloway might be a Marvel Avenger

Everyone knows him as Sawyer, the wisecracking, acerbic con man with a heart of gold. But now that Sawyer's (and LOST's) storyline has ended, actor Josh Holloway might just be moving on to a bigger job: superhero movies.

If there's one thing that can unite folks at the box office, it's superhero movies. Movies like Iron Man 2 and Kick-Ass have scored respectable audiences in a year of disappointing box offices, and Marvel Comics will continue not to disappoint, with a slew of new films slated for release, all leading up to the 2012 premiere of The Avengers, an all-star film that includes characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. Now, Joshua Holloway might have his toe in the door for a little piece of Avengers real estate as well, considering that he's in talks to star in a Marvel movie, Avengers News has reported.

While no source is given, the site says that Holloway is in talks for a lead role in an as-yet unknown film: "Apparently there’s been talk between Marvel and his group to play a “lead” role in an upcoming Marvel film. We mention a “lead” role because these bigger actors often won’t sign “retainers”, meaning everything should be 100% locked (character, film, etc) for Josh once he’s signed the dotted line."

Now, I don't know about you, but I would love to see Holloway in a big role in a film. Sure, LOST got him recognition, but to see him make the jump to A-Lister status would be nothing short of great. Of course, the question remains who he would play. Many speculate that he would play Henry Pym/Ant-Man, which would be a cool character if it weren't for the mediocre name. Would anyone really go to see a movie titled Ant-Man? I wouldn't.

Then there's my favorite still-uncast role, Hawkeye. Hawkeye is simply a really good archer, who seems to match Holloway's physical description. Now, would I go see a movie called Hawkeye? Signs point to yes.

That, of course, begs another question: will I ever be able to see Holloway as any other character but Sawyer? The role was so iconic and endearing that I'll most likely be seeing Sawyer in whatever Marvel movie Holloway is cast, if he is indeed given a role (much like Kent Taylor in Vantage Point– that was Jack!).

We wept when Sayid and Shannon reunited in the series finale of Lost, but life isn't imitating art for Naveen Andrews.

Andrews and his girlfriend of 12 years, actress Barbara Hershey, have called it quits according to People. His manager says the amicable split happened six months ago.

Hershey, 62, and Andrews, 41, met in 1998 on a filmset. Barbara is best known for her roles in Beaches and Hannah and Her Sisters.

One more reason to love Michael Emerson: He just spilled the goods on an amazing surprise for any Lost fan planning to buy the final, sixth-season DVD. (And trust me, now all of you will be buying it.)

There will be more Lost. There is more to the story, and we will get to see it! Praise Jacob! Or should we say...Hurley?!

"For those people that want to pony up and buy the complete Lost series, there is a bonus feature," Michael just told our Kevin Pereira of Attack of the Show!, which airs tonight at 7 on E!'s brother network G4. "Which is um, you could call it an epilogue. A lost scene. It's a lot; it's 12 or 14 minutes that opens a window onto that gap of unknown time between Hurley (Jorge Garcia) becoming number one and the end of the series."

Michael says this extra footage is not the premise for a spinoff. "It's self-contained. Although, it's a rich period in the show's mythology that ‘s never been explored, so who knows what will come of it."

That said, as I reported earlier, we'll find out what happens to Walt on the DVD as well. And so for the last time ever (sniff!), I think I get to say, Lost spoiler alert! Whatcha wanna bet that during Hurley and Ben's adventures on the island, they run into Walt a few years into the future, when he's oh, 18 and looking just as Malcolm David Kelley looks now?

Oh, genius show, I love you. Why must you make it so hard to let go? Just as we're trying to say good-bye, you dangle this most excellent carrot!

Walt and Finale Credits

Question about the ‘Lost’ finale: I thought we were supposed to see Walt one last time? Did something change? – Craig

You perhaps got wind of what ‘Lost’ boss Carlton Cuse said at last week’s Times Talk Live event: “You will actually see Malcolm [David Kelley], when all is said and done.” But he wasn’t necessarily referring to the series finale that was broadcast on Sunday. So yes, they did find a way to reintroduce (a grown) Walt, but you’ll have to wait for the Season 6 DVD extras.

My friends and I are debating the significance of the wreckage shown during the ‘Lost’ finale’s closing credits. Was that the plane Lapidus was flying everyone off the island on? Or was that Oceanic 815, meaning everyone died in the original crash? – Leah

It was C) Not quite any of the above. While many have sought to read something into the serene image of the Oceanic 815 wreckage, sources assure me that coda was chosen strictly to serve as a “buffer” between the finale’s mind-bending final act and the local newscast to come.

Josh Holloway: 'Lost finale was perfect'

Josh Holloway has revealed that he is pleased with the way Lost ended.

In the finale, Holloway's character Sawyer reunited with Juliet and the actor explained that he was happy with the outcome.

"Absolutely," he told Entertainment Weekly. "And it leaves Jack and Kate to find each other again - as they always should have."

Holloway continued: "I feel like Kate and Sawyer were not a couple for life. They had an undeniable love. But a life-long thing? I don't think so. I think Sawyer wanted her to be with Jack, anyway. Not to mention the fact that he's in love with Juliet.

"So I liked the way it worked out. I thought it was perfect. Because people were always like, 'Who she going to choose? Who she going to choose?' Well, she's obviously going to choose the doctor in my world view! Why wouldn't she?"

Never before has a TV breakup hurt so much...and left us blubbering like such babies.

Tonight we Lost fans lost our "Constant"—the show we connected with on such a soul-grippingly deep level for six years, it feels as if we've lost not just a TV series, but a true friend.

So did the series finale live up to expectations? And what did it all mean? Let's dig in...

One glance at Twitter, Facebook etc. tonight and you'll see that the fans are a bit divided on Lost's final episode. Some loved it, some hated it, and some are still trying to figure out what the bejeezus happened. I'm most definitely in the first camp: LOVED IT, as tonight's finale was perhaps the most emotionally gratifying series ender in the history of television. Damon and Carlton gave us exactly what they promised—resolution on the things that mattered most to the characters.

Jack, Kate, Locke, Desmond, Sawyer, Juliet, Claire, etc. all ended up in a happy place...but what exactly was that place?

WHAT WE LEARNED

The Sideways World Was a Passage to "The Light": Charlie's (Dominic Monaghan) iconic question from the very first episode—"Guys, where are we?"—came full circle tonight, as Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox) asked that very Q of his father, Christian Shephard, in Lost's epic final scene.

Jack: Where are we?
Christian: This is a place you all made together so you could find one another...Nobody does it all alone. You needed them and they needed you.
Jack: For what?
Christian: To remember and to let go.

Obviously, precisely "where" these characters were going will be long debated, but for what it's worth, here's my take: Damon and Carlton told the truth when they said the Island was not purgatory. It wasn't, and what happened there happened, and everyone was alive.

However, the Sideways world was a postdeath place of limbo where Jack was waiting until he was ready to "let go" and cross over to the Light, which is basically Lost's form of heaven. The Losties who appeared in the church at the end all died at different times in different places (some much later on) but came together in that space to help Jack move on.

But it wasn't only about helping Jack. The Losties all gathered in the church to cross over to the Light because Jack saved that very Light when he rescued the Island. As we were told this season, if the Light "goes out here, it goes out everywhere" and "everyone you love would simply cease to be." If the Light had gone out, the Losties could never have reconnected with their loved ones again. But because Jack saved it, they all get to live blissfully ever after. The (brilliant) end.

And something you probably caught, but just in case: Throughout the season, the blood that appeared on Jack's neck was an indication that Jack was already dead/dying and on his way to "another life, brotha." (A little Sixth Sense-ish. And spine-tinglingly cool.)

So What Is Lost's "Heaven?" It's "Light"...and That Other "L Word": Lesbians! (I keed.) Boss Damon Lindelof told me several weeks back that Lost is, at its very core, a love story: "Always has been. Always will be." And tonight, as each set of Constants reconnected and moved toward the Light—Sun and Jin, Charlie and Claire, Jack and Kate, Juliet and Sawyer--we saw that heaven is, indeed, being with the one(s) you love. It made for some of the most awe-inspiring, romantic scenes ever seen on television. I'm sure I'm not alone when I tell you I sobbed so hard at times, I found it hard to breathe. Everyone obviously will react differently to this finale but to me personally, it was the most cathartic TV viewing experience I have ever had. And no one can debate that away.

Hope This Helps: I'm seeing a lot of confusion on this out there, so want to point it out that I firmly believe the Losties did not all die in the plane crash or on the island. They were alive on the island. They all died at different times and in different places (some on the island; some off). This final season was about them being in a holding pattern (the Sideways world) after they died, and Desmond showing them all that they are in fact dead and it's time to move forward with the ones they love. They needed each other to "Remember and to move on."

Jack died on the island. Kate, Claire, Lapidus, Sawyer, Miles and Richard all left the island and lived out their lives. (Jack saw their plane taking off safely as he died.) When Kate saw Jack in the church, on their way to the afterlife (The Light), she told him how much she had missed him, because she probably lived on many years once she got off the island.

When Hurley and Ben meet up, they reference that Hurley "was a great number one" and Ben was a "great number two." That's because they lived on the island after Jack died to protect it, presumably for many years. Ben says he's not yet ready to move on because he doesn't feel he's ready to cross over (or doesn't yet deserve to).

The more I think about all this, the more I love it. I hope you do, too.

Jack Was Supposed to Die—from the Very Beginning: "There was an early version of the script in which my character was killed off in the first or second act," Matthew Fox told me way back at Lost's first premiere party. Jack was to be a guest role played by someone such as—can you picture this?—Michael Keaton. So instead they let us invest for six seasons only to find out that it was all about Jack's death after all?! Gaaaah! Of course, we should have seen it coming the second Rose told Jack in the season opener: "It's OK. You can let go."

On Kimmel tonight, Matthew Fox backed up Jimmy's theory that Jack's Island experience was real, and really happened (Christian Shephard also told him so), but the final season (and the Sideways world) was Jack's "test" to determine whether he would go toward the light.

"There's room for interpretation based on your spiritual beliefs," Matthew said. That would explain the stained-glass window in the church with all of the major religions of the world represented--and what looks like the frozen donkey wheel (though I'm told now that's actually a Buddhist symbol called the Dharmachakra). We gotcha, Darlton! Very on the nose.

"I knew that the final image would be [Jack's] eye," Matthew told Kimmel. "And I knew that he would die."

But did you know that Vincent would lie down next to Jack to keep him company while he passed over? 'Cause Jesus that was a tearjerker. So well done.

Hurley Got to Be the New Jacob! Yes, Jack fulfilled his destiny by drinking the wine, replugging the cork down in the light cave and saving the Island (and everyone we love), but it was Hurley who ended up as the next protector of the Island. Anyone else choke up as Hurley asked Ben to stick around and help him, finally giving Ben what he wanted all along: a real purpose? A chance to be special?

Of course, we should have seen that it would be Hurley, as he is the one true, pure spirit who never once lied to anyone, and carried a simple but sizable heart...just like Jacob. To quote that awesome West Wing woman C.J. Craig: "It was always you. I see that now."

And by the way, that scene with Jack down at the replugged cork, sobbing as the water and the light started rushing back in over him is arguably Matthew Fox's finest work to date.

Even Claire Got a Happy Ending. Kate convincing Claire to get on the plane, and that "no one knows how to be a mother at first, but I'll show you," was certainly one of the most satisfying moments of the finale—at least for this mom. After so much heartbreak—and the recent abandonment of Ji Yeon—Claire got to go home and be a mother to Aaron, whom we were told long ago should not be raised by another. And Kate got to stay close to the boy she raised for three years. Beautiful.

WHAT LIES AHEAD

Damon Lindelof just tweeted what he has said will be his last words about Lost: "Remember. Let go. Move on. I will miss it more than I can ever say."

Clearly, it's the message the producers would like us to carry from tonight. And though the debates will rage on over what Lost was about, why Kate ended up with Jack and not Sawyer, and why Josh Holloway runs like a girl (kidding...sorta), I think we all can agree that Lost was groundbreaking television unlike anything we've seen before--or will probably ever see again.

Lost, you will be sorely missed. Thanks for one hell of a ride. I'll see you on the other side cause you will always be my TV love.

EVANGELINE Lilly has a new man in her life.

The Lost actress — who previously dated her costar Dominic Monaghan — is said to have hooked up with Lost production assistant Norman Kali.

And Monaghan, sources say, isn’t a happy chappy about his ex’s new beau.

“Lost certainly has been very good for Evie’s love life,” a set insider told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“Her romance with Dominic was red-hot for a long time, and they’ve still managed to remain friends. Now she’s found love again on the Lost set with Norman.

The source added that Lilly and Kali became friends working on the show and “in time that friendship blossomed into romance.”

“Norman’s everything Evie wants,” said the pal. “He’s handsome, strong and buff. He loves the outdoors and has a great sense of humor.

“It’s been hard for Dominic to accept that Evie has moved on.”
