I guess it's a good thing that Entourage is in fact about both Vince and his entourage, or frankly, I might be bored. Vince on his own is a little one-note and dull for me. Ari Gold however, is the obvious show-stealer. Nobody ever made profanity sound so good (and Jeremy Piven has a shelf full of awards which also confirm this). I also decided to highlight one other member of Vince's entourage, and while some might go with Drama, I think his charades are at times too over the top. I love Turtle's stupid (but smarter than you might think) innocence.
Lost - Desmond and Ben Linus
You all know that last season's "The Constant" was possibly the best episode of Lost ever, and what do you know...it was about Desmond! I've always had a soft-spot for the non Flight 815-member and his love story with Penny.
Equally fantastic is Michael Emerson's Ben Linus, who plays what I believe to be the most complex and fascinating villain on TV right now. As long as Ben sticks around, Lost is sure to remain great.
The Office - Kelly Kapoor
I know...you could choose pretty much any supporting character on The Office as a show-stealer which is why this show is so great. Trying to stick to my original rules, I went with just one. Perhaps I am partial because I know that Mindy Kaling is also a writer for the series, but Kelly Kapoor always makes me laugh, whether she is not dressing up for Ryan or talking about her Netflix queue.
Greek - Dale and Cappie
I didn't know much about Clark Duke before seeing him on Greek, but I absolutely love what he has done with his character of Dale. While he started as the Confederate-flag hanging Bible-crazy, Dale has really grown as a person and character. He has questioned his ideals, but has not necessarily thrown them out the window due to peer pressure. It's kind of like what really happens in college!
Also essential to Greek is of course Scott Michael Foster's Cappie. Cappie has got to be the smartest and wittiest slacker on TV...and he makes Greek that much more fun to be watching.
30 Rock - Kenneth and Jonathan
We could also choose pretty much any supporting character on 30 Rock (and is it me or have Frank and Toofer been sorely underused this season)...but I am going with Kenneth and Jonathan. Both of their devotion to their jobs - Kenneth as an NBC page and Jonathan to Jack Donaghy himself - is creepy, yet oh so entertaining. I specifically wanted to mention Maulik Pancholy, who plays Jonathan, because he is also a scene-stealer in Weeds. Seriously, that kid deserves his own show someday...
So all-in-all there were 17 supporting characters here. Guess I should have titled the article "10 Shows with Awesome Supporting Characters"!
