Should 'Lost''s Kate just die and put us out of our misery?

(Disclaimer: The opinions stated in this article do not necessarily represent the views held by Room 23)

Lost girl Kate Austen (Evangeline Lilly) throws a come-hither, hey-big-boy-wanna-get-shipwrecked-on-a-desert-island look our way.

Concerning: "And frankly Jack's justification - i.e., he blew it with Kate - for setting off the bomb in order to turn back time ...is pretty weak."

Umm, that wasn't Jack's reason, his reason was to save all the people he "lost", all the people that died on his watch. Kate was just the answer to Saywer's question of what Jack wanted. But it was not the reason Jack was going to blow up the bomb. It was Sawyer that said a man did what he did based on what a man wants, Jack didn't agree to that, just let him Sayer know what he wanted, and that it was too late to have his desire. So... not so weak after all, really. His reason is right in line with Jack's main trait as stated time and time again thorughout the series, he can't bear to let someone die on his watch.
